Bharti Airtel announced the nationwide roll-out of 4G services on 6th August 2015, becoming the first network provider in the country to do so. A common trigger amongst people who had made the switch to 4G was a live demonstration of the difference between 3G & 4G speeds.
The launch service was planned to be made available in 14 circles and 296 towns.:
